Teresa and Gordon Skinner: May 19 to 28, 2015

Purpose:

2015-05-CottageWe were happy to return to Uganda and encourage Emmanuel and Clare as they enter into a new dimension continuing the work of NEEPUganda.

We arrived May 20th and spent the first night with Emmanuel and Clare at the family home in Kampala. We left in the next afternoon for the village in Nyamabuga.

We stayed close to Nyamabuga at the Royal Cottage Hotel and were blessed to stay in the circular, grass roofed cottages. We were very excited to stay there because they look a lot like the Monolithic domes we would like to build on our property. The cottage was not only powered by solar but the hot water was solar as well. The hotel gave us a reduced rate and that was a blessing 🙂

2015-05-SecondaryMay 22nd was spent at the Nyamabuga School for a meeting regarding building the Secondary School Building. After introductions we had a tour of the construction site and discussed how we will proceed. It is amazing to see God’s provision of excellent skilled people who will help finish the building.

2015-05-Farm

May 23rd I toured the 100 acre farm near Nyamabuga School while Teresa remained at the school. Five full time farm workers manage the farm, tea, passion fruit trees, cabbage and other vegetables are all growing beautifully.

2015-05-Meal

We returned to the school to an wonderful meal prepared with some of the beans from the garden!

2015-05-SundayMay 24th We attended Sunday morning service at the school with the Boarding Students and others who could attend. This was a highlight of the trip. We enjoyed such a rich time of “heavenly” worship with these sincere students. Teresa taught the song “My Hands Are Blessed” and I ministered about “Worry” through the song “Why Worry When You Can Pray.” The students came for prayer and God’s presence was very sweet.

Wednesday we went with Emmanuel to meet Pastor Butch of Eagles Nest Ministries. Pastor Butch has a large school and church in Kampala where Emmanuel attended primary school. Pastor Butch had a lot of wisdom and enjoyable stories to share.

2015-05-CIS

Back to the new office site of the Center for International Studies. They have four classrooms and beautiful office space. It seems everyone is happy for the move to Impala House there is more space and fresh air.

2015-05-Gordon

I had a great time hiking on the farm with Emmanuel and Geoffrey. Our one week trip was short and then back to the States.

Until next time Uganda! We love you!
